NEWS
7/04/01- Today is July 4th. I'm
noticing that I seem to work only when its a major holiday. Anyway,
the first symphony's kinda on the brink. I noticed that when I
started, my style is completely different than it was when I started.
I blame getting better, because I hate all my previous stuff, and like new
stuff. Sigh, anyway, I'm trying to convince my friend Hampton Smith to
let me put up some of his MIDI/MP3 works so he can get a little
exposure. He's more of the Broadway Musical writer, while I'm more of
a New York Philharmonic writer. Hopefully one day we'll hear our stuff
up there. My main work right now is my second symphony. It will
probably be named Symphony #1 when its done (due to the fact that it will be
the first one done) Its probably the best thing I've ever written and
I work on it daily. I'm making some MP3 Samples to put up on the site
so you can hear how its coming. Its a little unorthodox to do that,
but I don't care at all. I love my adoring fans too much. All
seven of you.
2/14/01 - Its Valentines Day.
Being me, of course what I'm going to do is update my website. Lots of
little updates, My Symphony is being gutted. What I have of it, at
least. The First movement I have never been happy with. I'm
adding onto it. The end of it was weak, so on it will go. The
Second movement hasn't changed much, I've added a piano part in the
beginning so its not just chords. Piano parts throughout the whole
thing now. The Third Movement is going along nicely. I got the
idea of a piano part most way through the Third Movement. SO, being me, I
went back and viola, Piano parts in all the movements. I'm going to
let it sit a while as I've started an Overture of sorts. No name yet,
I'm not that clever. I think I might be getting more work, I've posted
a resume` up on
www.gamecreationlab.com, you shoud check it out. Anyway, I will be
purchasing a nice new program for image editing, so expect a new look on the
site. Happy Valentines Day, if you have a girlfriend, I hate
you.
11/22/00 - Ah! I'm a genius. I got
the mp3's up for my first two movements of my symphony. (gotta take
pride where you can get it) I got a new
piece for a string ensemble called "Returning Light." Its
quite emotional, for me at least, as I wrote it in maybe 2 hours. The
first hour I was pleased, then angry the next. Kinda funny for me, but
I doubt you'll get it. No offense or anything, but you weren't
there.

11/21/00 - A friend of mine helped me out
with a few new names for some of my stuff, Thanks Jenni, so now they have
cool sounding names. I've tried uploading some mp3's but Tripod hates
me, I'm going to find some other ways. I've got a steady start to the
3rd and 4th movement of my symphony. I've gotten a new section, its
the composer's notes. You can read what I was thinking when I came up
with some of this stuff. I recently heard the Richmond Symphony (and the
Entire Chorus including the Childrens Chorus) perform Brittin's War
Requiem. It was pretty inspiring to honestly see how many people can
fit on a stage. You had to be there. That's about it,
later

11/13/00 - Symphony near half done! Its
around 7 minutes long at the 2nd movement mark. I only have 2 more
ideas (maybe a minute each) but they'll be more spectacular than the
first. However, as I am writing this, I feel that I'm going to be
writing alot tonight. I recently attended the Regional Orchestra for Virginia.
I was the 2nd of 2 trumpets selected in the region. We Played Dvorak's
9th Symphony and Beethoven's "Overture to Prometheus" This
will probably change my style entirely, as I have never heard or even played
in an entire Orchestra live. It taught me alot about how the brass is used
etc... I hope I've made my own revelation. MP3's will be up
soon.
